How to Apply for a CYA Scholarship

At Caribe Yoga Academy we strive to support diversity, equity, accessibility and sustainability through our programs. BIPOC, trans/queer/non-binary people and Costa Rican citizens are, in particular, encouraged to attend! We believe the professional field of yoga should represent more closely our actual, and diverse global population.

We regularly offer $250 to $1400 USD discounts per 250 hour foundational program or 300 hour advanced level program. We are striving to spotlight and support marginalized communities all over the world, particularly those underrepresented in the field of yoga. This may also mean in some cases, anyone that is working with adaptive practices, or those who seek to bring the practice to underserved populations upon completion of their certification (shelters, geriatric care, prisons, schools etc.). Our full scholarships and largest scholarships are reserved for Costa Rican Nationals only (up to $1800 USD off of regular dorm rate).

If you feel you qualify for consideration, please fill out the form below and specify which program you would like to attend.  All scholarships discounts are applied to the total price of each program; additional discounts do not apply and cannot be combined. The scholarships for visitors are for on-site residential living only. For students residing full-time locally in the area, ask about living off-site. THE CARIBE YOGA ACADEMY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO WITHHOLD SCHOLARSHIPS IF NO SUITABLE CANDIDATES/APPLICANTS MEETING OUR CRITERIA ARE FOUND.

Submission of your application means you have read and understand: 

• The scholarship is for a $250 to $1400 USD discount off of the regular dorm rate posted for our 250hr foundational level training or 300hr Advanced level yoga teacher training. Additional discounts do not apply and cannot be combined.
• Scholarship students are not eligible for housing upgrades (to private or double housing). Dorm housing only.
• The scholarship does not include airfare or travel expenses to get here.
• This scholarship is reserved for those who truly have a financial (or other) barrier to their attendance. Please be honest with us and also with yourself.
• Please specify which program and which dates you are applying for.
• If information is missing or incomplete this may delay or inhibit your acceptance.
• Scholarships are granted for shared dorm or off-site housing only.
• Submission of this form means you have committed to being honest and accurate in your responses.
• All information submitted is private and will not be shared with any entity outside of the scholarship committee.
• Scholarship students are subject to all of the same policies, waivers, registration forms, attendance policy and credit expectations as all other attendees.
• In the case that you are chosen, we will reach out to all scholarship winners directly via WhatsApp (if provided) or via email to inform you of the bursary opportunity you have won. This email will include total price of the program, program dates and links to register.
